An online safe haven.

((gifs not mine))

So 2016 is ending soon!!!! Why do the year always pass by so quickly??? Gosh!

Beauty

As you guys know, it's been months since I've been to Seoul and after coming back with crazy loads of shopping, these are my top favorite products that I've bought from there!!

1. Etude House Face Blur

This is the best primer ever?!!! LIKE OMG. So initially I was using Maybelline's baby skin pore eraser right? However I find that I didn't really like it since it has this oily texture and since my skin is already oily enough, I don't want it to add on.

So instead I decided to try face blur, and since a lot of people recommended it I was like, okay let's try, after all in Korea it's damn cheap can. Cheaper than SG at least.

AND I LOVE IT. LIKE I JUST LOVE IT!!

I won't go much into details since this is not a review post, but if you guys wanna see a review on this, leave a comment!

2. Maybelline The Blushed Nudes Palette

Favorite palette for the year because I'm a sucker for the colors in it like rose golds and pink. I actually did a full review on this so you can read it here.

3. Etude House Oil Control Pact

Living in a country like SG, how can don't have this? As you guys know, weather in SG is summer everyday, therefore we are all prone to oily skin every second!!

Because I have super oily skin, I stopped using my powder foundation and straight away use this after my BB cushion/cream.

This works man, like your face becomes instant matte!! I wouldn't recommend people with dry skin to use this cause it seriously makes your face matte!! But sadly, it doesn't last the entire day without having to re apply it every few hours.

Lifestyle

1. OPI Nail polishes

So, I never really used OPI nail polishes only until this year when I actually found a box of of Minnie Mouse special collection by OPI in the drawer and I was like OMG OMG. I begged my mom to let me keep it (she wanted to give to someone).

Now I know why OPI is so well known amongst all the nail polish brands. Their nail polish colors are so freaking pretty and there's a whole wide variety of different colors and collections!!

Plus, it's so easy to apply!! I stopped using other nail polish and have then stick to only OPI lol. But too bad, I can't buy much here in SG since 1 OPI nail polish is like so ex? To me anyways..

2. Klorane Dry Shampoo

One word to describe this - CONVENIENCE!!!!

I have super oily hair everytime I wake up, idk why though, so my hair would ended up being super flat and ugly and disgusting.

So I have to use this before styling my hair for school. Super convenient and makes my hair smell nice as well!! Oh and after spraying it onto my scalp and massaging it in, my hair becomes puffy again. Oh thank the Lord.

K Dramas Recommendations

Who doesn't love k dramas?! I mean, uh if you don't then skip this section.. So let's see, who loves k dramas?! I'm always looking for good k dramas to watch and when I meant "good", I meant those dramas which I'd prefer not to waste my time with their usual plots of the weak girl falling in love with the rich guy blah blah blah.

This year, I've found a few k dramas which I had watched and I really really really love it!! Some of these dramas may have aired like last year or later fyi.

1. Descendants of the Sun

Okay, if you have not heard of this drama, you must be living under the rock this whole time.

First aired on February 24 and starring Song Joong Ki & Song Hye Kyo, this drama was a hit everywhere. Like literally even out of Asia please!! They first introduced this drama at the KBS Drama Awards 2015 last december and I was kinda excited for it.

It's about a romance between a soldier and a doctor oohlala~

I mean hello, the plot is one of a kind! Hardly any k drama has a military plot in it right? Plus, it was SJK's comeback drama after army so I was like "this one confirm must watch!!"

I wasn't disappointed with the entire series at all. In fact, it went way beyond my expectations. I really love it!

Not to mention, every week they release a new OST and each OST blows my mind away. If you do a research on all the OSTs, you guys will notice that for each OST is sung by very well known artists. Which makes their OSTs a hit as well!!

2. Kill Me Heal Me

Okay, so this drama aired like in the beginning of 2015 but I only started watching it this year. I've heard of this drama last year but wasn't so interested cause I didn't know who Ji Sung or Hwang Jung Eum was.

It wasn't until I watched Ji Sung's latest drama - Entertainer, which then led me to Kill Me Heal Me.

Ji Sung plays a chaebol who suffers from Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) and there's 6 personalities living in him of which every single one of them are darn cute!! He meets Hwang Jung Eum's character who would help him and his 6 personalities. LOL.

Boy, why didn't I watched this drama earlier?! Like, everything about this drama is so darn funny, I don't normally like romantic comedies, but this one really top it!!

It's actually difficult to infuse the idea of Dissociative Identity Disorder aka Multiple Personality Disorder, into a drama. But the writers manage to make it into a comedy as well so kudos to them!!

Also, Ji Sung is a really really talented guy, playing 6 different personalities is not easy yet he managed to pull it off!! OMG. Plus, I love the chemistry between Ji Sung and Hwang Jung Eum, hope they would work together again!

3. Doctors

If you're someone looking for a cute romance drama, this is it. Starring Park Shin Hye and Kim Rae Won, this drama is about Park Shin Hye being a tough girl this time (Heirs was really bad) and known for starting fights when she was in high school. She then met her new high school teacher who cared for her and (surprisingly) fell in love with her.

But they were unable to develop a r/s (student - teacher a bit weird ah) and so due to some circumstances, they did not meet until 13 years later where they are both doctors in the same hospital. That's when he began pursuing her.

For those who are sick of seeing Shin Hye acting as a weak girl again, this is the drama where you have to watch!! Kudos to her character for not being a damsel in distress, in fact, she's the one giving kicks and punches this time.

Though a lot of people isn't too fond of the idea of the big age gap between the two characters especially since they used to have a teacher-student r/s, but I don't mind at all. I mean they didn't form any r/s when she was in school then and the fact that he waited for her for 13 years just makes my heart flutter lol!!

4. W - Two Worlds

Starring Lee Jong Suk (oppppaaaaa) and Han Hyo Joo, who makes her small screen comeback after her last tv drama - Dong Yi!!

I anticipated this drama after watching the trailer even though I didn't know what was it about lol cause it has Lee Jong Suk (like uh oppa leh please!!) and Han Hyo Joo who is one of my favorite actress cause I really loved her performance in Dong Yi.

So technically when I watched the first episode, I was confused. After googling this drama and reading comments on it I finally got the geez of what this drama is about.

Han Hyo Joo's character, Oh Yeon Joo, is a resident at a hospital, her father is a well known webtoon artist who is famous for his work, W. Lee Jong Suk stars as Kang Chul who is the male lead in... W?! Yeon Joo soon realised that Kang Chul has been alive all along and that there is an alternate universe in the comics..

A bit confusing right? One thing for sure is that this plot is really interesting, can you imagine falling in love with a webtoon character who is alive? Oh boy..

5. Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo

Ever since it was announced that there was going to be a remake of the very famous Chinese drama 步步惊心 starring Liu Shishi and Nicky Wu, I was like OOOHHH.

When they announced the cast, I was like YASSSSSSSS. I mean Lee Jun Ki? King of historical dramas = MUST WATCH!!!!!! Plus along with a group of flower boys (yes I'm talking about Kang Haneul, Hong Jonghyun, Nam Joohyuk, Jisoo, Yoon Sun Woo and Baekhyun), HOW CAN DON'T WATCH?!?!!

Thank God for ONE TV that I am able to catch it every monday and tuesday at 9pm. It telecasts alongside with Korea so I don't need to wait for the subs the next day online heh.

I have never watched the chinese version, but I knew the story (from reading it online). In case yall don't know what is the story about, it's about a girl in the 21st century who time travelled back to the historical times where there are still Kings ruling the country. There she meets 7 princes of different personality and yup, you guessed it, she fell in love with one of them. (Or should I say.. 2?)

Anyway, IU plays the female lead which I don't mind. So far, she's able to live up to her character so idk why there are people who's complaining about her. (Mainly k netz lmao)

She had plenty of cute and sweet moments with Lee Jun Ki and Kang Haneul. Makes my heart flutter hehe!~

Oh, and the OST is great as well. My favorite so far is "Say Yes" by Punch and Loco. Oh and yes, there's a OST by EXO's main vocalists as well.

If you are wondering what will the korean version of Scarlet Heart be like, go and watch it! You won't be disappointed!
 6. Legend of the Blue Sea

So this drama has only recently started airing in December and I just had to add this onto my list of faves. When it was first released, I was not that interested in it cause I didn't know much about what the drama is gonna be like, plus I don't normally watch LMH's shows ever since BOF.

But then this drama had gotten so many good comments I'm like OKAY I SHALL TRY AND WATCH IT.

AND OMG BOY AM I GLAD I STARTED TO WATCH IT cause after the first two eps, I was so hooked on it!!

Like a love story between a mermaid and a human? It's something that the K drama industry has not try so I was like, okay let's see how this works!

And can I say I really really love the interactions between (Queen) Jun Ji Hyun and Lee Min Ho. Like, omg. Her character is so adorable and funny, every episode never fail to make me laugh.

LMH's character is a dork and so cute as well. This pairing is really not that bad. I like it.

Anyway, the story of LOTBS is about JJH's character who's a mermaid falling in love with this magistrate in the Joseon Era (played by LMH), and then somehow the story transits into the future, and our dear mermaid who falls in love with the reincarnation of the magistrate, the modern version of LMH's character.

It's currently still airing but this is definitely a drama I would recommend.

7. Goblin

Okay, so here's another "fantasy" k drama! Goblin, starring Gong Yoo (Coffee Prince, Train to Busan) and Kim Go Eun (Cheese in a Trap), comes from the writer of DOTS. Can you now imagine how this drama is gonna be like? heh.

Just like LOTBS, I was skeptical, basically meh, when this drama was released but then I'm like, since I have no k dramas to watch currently, let's just try Goblin. Plus, last time I watched Gong Yoo on the small screen was the drama "Big".

Anyway, yep, exact reaction as LOTBS, THIS DRAMA GOT ME HOOKED. Not only for their amusing scenes but also the stills. Like, the cinematography IS AWESOME.

Goblin is basically about a general (where Kings and Queens still reign but idk if it's Joseon Era) whom, after coming back from war was ordered to be killed by the King cause they claimed he had committed treason. After all his family members were killed (as ordered by the King), the general took his sword and asked his right hand man to plunge it into his body.

And somehow, I don't know how, this general became immortal and thus, became the Goblin. Fast forward to the present time, the Goblin is on a mission to find the "Goblin's bride" whom has the ability to pull his sword out from his body so he can finally die.

With that, he meets 19 year old student, Ji Eun Tak (KGE), a cheerful and optimistic girl who is always bullied by her aunt and two cousins. She lost her mom since young and has been living with them. However, she has a special ability where she could see ghosts. Apparently it's because she's the Goblin's bride.

So yep, these two meet and then start falling in love! Wheep~

Anyway, I know some netizens (rolls eyes) are kinda freaked out by the big age gap between the two leads. LMAO. I mean, k netz are always displeased with something so tch. But to me, I think this drama is worth a shot. It's more like a love story between two soul mates whom have a connection with each other, so it does not seemed to weird for me even with the age gap.

Fans of Gong Yoo, this is definitely a drama you should catch! Oh, not to mention with the addition of Lee Dong Wook who plays a super handsome and cut Grim Reaper! Yes, there are also bromance scenes between the Goblin and the grim reaper! Hint, they are super cute lmao.

Oh and I think it would help you better if you google about the Korean folklore on Goblins, cause if not you wouldn't understand the drama heh.

2016 has been a fulfilling year for me. God has really blessed me so much and I would like to give thanks to him for seeing me through another year.

2017 will be the year where I will start internship and it's also the year where it'd be my last year in poly before I graduate in 2018.

I think I have emphasised enough but I'm still gonna say this again.. WHY IS TIME FLYING BY SO FAST???

It's passing by at an unbelievable speed (cue Mr Unbelievable) sigh.

Well I shall not leave any resolutions here because I don't always follow them anyway.

My goal for 2017 is probably the same as every year: to continue a closer walk with God and to serve him using gifts that he has blessed me with.. and to work hard in my studies!

Okay, I'll finished up here.

God Bless <3

Seems like this year I've got quite a few beauty reviews huh! Hehe, well I think this is the first time I'm doing a review on a eyeshadow palette!

So the backstory of why I wanted this palette.. I did not know how to appreciate eyeshadow colors such as pinks and rose golds until I learned more about Korean makeup. I found out that Korean makeup uses lots of pinks and rose golds colors, just very light and subtle ones.

Which is why I started digging through my only eye shadow palette that I had (which was also my first), the Coastal Scents 88 Warm palette.

Initially I used very limited colors in the palette such as browns and the lighter colors for highlighting. However, I began re swatching all the colors that I have never used and I found them so beautiful! Man do I appreciate things late.

Anyway, so I started using this shimmering rose gold color and started trying out different looks that I've seen in K dramas or kpop MVs. However, sadly in the palette, there's only one rose gold color.

Other palette which would have consisted of pinks and rose golds would be the Urban Decay Naked 3. However, it cost about 50 over bucks just to get it at Sephora here. Thank God I knew about the Maybelline Blushed Nudes which the colors are similar to Naked 3 but it's SO MUCH MORE CHEAPER!!!

Still a little expensive here in SG, so I asked my Aunt to help me get it in the US, which she got it for less than 10 USD which is around 16 SGD. Now that's definitely a great deal.

Okay, enough talking. Time to get into the pictures!

The front
The back
You can see at the back they have tips on how you could make use of different eyeshadows to create different looks! Check out their website as well for more looks from other girls!

I have actually edited the image and add numbers to them so that when you see the swatches, it'd be easier to identify which color is which since the colors do not have names.

So first, the things I love about this palette..

1. The Colors

I am currently a sucker for pinks and shimmering rose gold colors. The colors are similar to the UB Naked 3 even though some people might not think so. But it looks almost the same to me lol.

Anyway, I especially love shade no. 3 & 7. 3 if of course, a shimmering rose gold color. I always used it on the center of my eyelids to brighten them up. Occasionally if I'm going for a lighter look, I'll use shade 7, it's not too clear since I used flash on my photos, but shade 7 is actually a light shimmery pink color.

What I usually use on the outer corner of my eyelids would be shade no 2 followed by 4 or 11 followed by 12. This is when I wanna create a smokey effect. I know when people create smokey eye look they would use black. But I don't really like using black colors cause if I mess up, it's really difficult to clean up lol. So I always use browns instead. Plus, I don't really like it to be that heavy of a smokey eye.
Added a skin filter cause I wasn't wearing any face makeup.. skin looks so bad :(

Added skin filter as well for this pic

2. Size

The size of this palette is just SO CONVENIENT!!!!!! Like it's super travel friendly and I could fit it into my bag everywhere I go. Having 12 colors in a palette like this is a plus for me!!!!!

Moving on to what I do not really like about this palette.. Which is only one thing.

Not pigmented enough.

To be honest, when I was doing the swatches, I had to swatch about 2 to 3 times in order for the color to show. I realized that for the lighter shades, the colors are not so pigmented as compared to the lighter shade.

But I think in order for the color to really show, I think it'd be a good idea to wet the brush (using a setting spray or water) to get more colors onto the brush before applying.

So overall I would give this palette a 4/5 stars! If you really want to get UB Naked 3 but it's too expensive, try this. At least it's much more cheaper even if you think the colors aren't similar.

Okay, that's the end of my review! I've got another review coming soon.. (Hint hint: It's a matte lip cream!!)

YASSSS am back with another beauty review!

It's been so long and I'm really excited to write about this one!! As you can tell from the title above, (don't kill me) it's another Etude House product again! Woohoo!! Okay, I think I'm the only one excited huh..

Anyway, I went to Seoul in March, that's why confirm got a lot of beauty products to review on especially Etude House's cause if you read my Seoul Sweet posts, you guys would know that I went super crazy over there. If you have not read it, here it is.

I will be writing about one of their product from their Play 101 line. So this year, Etude actually launched their Play 101 line, you guys would have heard of their Play 101 pencils right?

Bet you guys didn't know that within their Play 101 line, there are also various play 101 sticks such as their multi color ones which are multi functional, foundations sticks and their contour duo stick which I would be showing you guys in a second.

(pic not mine)
These are the multi color ones that are multifunctional!

Before I bought this, I have never contour or highlight before. Probably cause I don't know how to and all I had was eyeshadows which to me was quite hard to use it to contour.

When Etude launched this product, I was like "need to try need to try!!"

So when I went to Seoul, I bought it for about 15,000 won if I could recall properly.. But I'm sure it's much more cheaper than the price over here.

Having both highlight and contour at the same time makes it super convenient!

Okay so let's talk about what I like about this product. I like how the shades are just right for my skin tone. Ya know, some contour colors aren't suitable for certain people because of their skin tone, so I remembered just grabbing this off the shelf without checking if it suits my skin.

But I'm glad it did! The contour shade wasn't too dark for my skin and it does gives off the contour effect that I wanted. The highlight part is also very pretty lol, it does what it's suppose to - shine the face. LMAO.

Oh, and it is super duper easy to apply on! Like it's very easy to drag (okay glide) it across my face.

Okay, anyway, there's one thing that I don't like about it though. The product finishes so fast! OMG. I don't know if I used it a lot, but when I twisted the stick to take the above photo, the contour part left like 3 cm only!

I was like "omg so fast finishing?!! NOOOOO" Knowing that it would finish so fast I could have bought another one when I was in Korea!! UGH.

The highlight portion got quite a bit still, just the contour part. I think I use more contour than highlight lol.

I don't know if it's suppose to blend it very easily cause it's a cream product right, but I get really tired blending the contour lol, or I think I'm just weak sigh, better start working those arm muscles!!

Okay, so I'll rate this product - 4/5!! Minus 1 cause it finishes so quickly!!

Wanna see how I contour & highlight?

pardon me for my not so on fleek makeup, I took this after spending the whole day at school so my makeup all vanished sigh

So the features where I would contour would be - cheekbones, jawline and hairline and nose.

This is because I wanted to make my face and nose look a little sharper and slimmer.

Features where I will highlight - nose bridge, cupid's bow, chin, above the cheekbones, brow bone and center of the forehead.

This is so that these features will stand out and be brought out.

Usually people contour and highlight is so that they would be able to hide and bring out certain features of their face. So why go for surgery when there's makeup? Heh.

But of course it's up to your own personal opinions, not that surgery isn't bad or anything. But I'd prefer "if no need, what for do."

Oh and I know a lot of people don't do contour and highlight now right? Now it's strobing instead hor? Sigh, time to master another skill again!

I think strobing will be easier right since it only involves highlighter..

Ok! I will go and learn strobing then I'll come back to yall with a new post and maybe do a comparison between C&H or strobing? Hehe.

What are the other makeup trends as well? I remembered after strobing there's another right.. But I just can't remember.. Hmm..

I forgot to mention, I will then use the beauty blender that I got from Korea (nope unfortunately, I do not have the original beauty blender that cost 30 bucks from sephora) and blend everything out.

Contour and highlight has become a part of my makeup routine that I'd feel weird if I stepped out of the house without it. For me, if I'm running late, I will only proceed to contour my nose cause the nose seems more important to me though lol.

I think I bore you guys enough with all the beauty talk right? Okie, I shall see yall in my next post! Adios!

(disclaimer: products are all bought with my own money)

(gifs not mine)

Back with another beauty product review and this time, it's Silkygirl! Yes yes, yall must be tired of me and my korean makeup products right. So here's another Asian brand.

Silkygirl!

The product I'll be talking about is their Lip color balm. Just like the name, it is a lipbalm with color. LMAO.

So Silkygirl actually has two kinds of lip color balm. One would be the Moisture Boost whereas the other is the Matte Fever.

Moisture Boost

When Silkygirl first launched their Moisture Boost lip balm, I was like "omg have to try!!" Afterall, it's not just lipbalm leh, it's lipbalm WITH COLOR!!

Whenever I wear lip products I will always apply lipbalms because my lips are super dry and crack then when wear lipstick like very ugly right.

But with the moisture boost, I don't need to wear lipbalm, just apply the product straight away lor! Save me one step and it's extremely useful when I'm in a hurry.

The first moisture boost I bought was the shade "Coral". I actually spend time swatching all the shades until I decided to buy Coral cause it has this sheer redish kind of color. Which I love cause like very natural heh.

It wasn't until Silkygirl recently launched new shades for the moisture boost before I decided I need another one. Afterall I love love love the first one I bought so must get another one lor!!

I looked online and saw what the new shades are - Orchid, Mauve and Blush. You can visit here for more info!

The new shades are so pretty so I was like OMG OMG I NEED TO GET ONE...

Of course I didn't want to buy from S'pore cause will a bit ex ya know, so I had the chance to go JB again with my parents for some shopping and food before school starts so must quickly go enjoy.

I immediately went to find Watsons at City Square and head straight to the Silkygirl section. Then I begun swatching the new shades until I decided to choose "Orchid".

It looks a little sheer, but don't worry, when it goes onto your lips, the color is there! I love love love Orchid shade cause it's so pretty!!

I guess the only bad thing about the lip colors is that you'll have to keep applying it especially after eating. I mean expected since like any other ordinary lipstick, it doesn't stay on unless they're tints.

A selfie of me wearing the shade "Orchid"

Matte Fever

When I was at JB, I bought the Matte Fever lip color too. Actually I didn't know about the matte fever lip color balm until I went onto their website and saw that they had a another type of lip color balm besides moisture boost.

MATTE SOME MORE!! Of course must try right!!

Matte lipsticks are getting so popular nowadays, I also don't know why but I LOVEEEE IT.

Like what I did for the moisture boost, I was busy swatching different shades to see which one I like.

So I chose the shade "Desire", at first it seem like almost similar to Coral to me, but once I tried it on my lips, I was like OMG WOAH.

It's like red with a bit of pink in it.

Look like pink right on my hand?

On my lips it's red actually! Looked more reddish on my lips than on my hand.

I'm glad I chose this cause I've been looking for a red lip color for a while now but when I went to Korea I only bought Etude House's cherry lip tint in a reddish color. But it's different cause that was a tint, I wanted a matte as well.

It looks a bit pinkish on camera, but off camera it has a more reddish tone.

Thank God I found this man!! Yay, now I have a matte lip color in red!

Oh and not to mention, the product smells like vanilla!! I was surprise cause the moisture boost got no smell so I'm like wah the matte fever is so unique.

I hope Silkygirl will release more new shades for the matte fever line!

Overall I'd give a 8/10 for their lipcolor balm. Minus two cause I have to keep applying after an hour but kinda expected it cause not tint mah.

It's super cheap in JB so if yall don't want spend too much, I suggest go JB buy better. Cost be $6 SGD when I buy in JB.

Okay time to roll around heh bye!

((gifs not mine))

For those who are not into makeup, I think you can like not read this post. LOL.

So I just wanted to blog about how I discovered makeup followed by my obsession with them.

I first discovered makeup when I was in primary 3? 9 years old then. My mom had loads of makeups, brands that don't really exist now. When my mom was like in her 20s, she always wore super thick eye shadows and red lips. You know in the 80s and 90s, the makeup is known to be super black smokey eye ((like your eye kenna punched)) and super red lips!!

She was the one who taught me how to wear makeup. At 9 years old, I started off by wearing simple ones like pink lipgloss. Then when I was 10, I played with a sparkly silver eyeshadow. I look ridiculous then omg. Some more I was so nerd nerd, with rectangular glasses. LOL. Still 有脸 to wear silver eyeshadow and lipgloss.

When I was 11, that's when puberty hit me lol. I started wanting to look prettier since I kinda know how to like boys already. So I assumed that "hey, for a boy to like a girl, she has to look slim and pretty."

That was the first time my mom plucked my eyebrows. I swear I cried like a baby omg. It was freaking pain and I was so scared of the tweezers. That time thin brows were still a trend, so my mom would plucked my eyebrows until they were super thin. It wasn't until I was 15 years old then the trend was Korean eyebrows, thick and straight. So I painstakingly waited till my eyebrows grew and groomed them myself. ((Yes! I don't go and thread my brows, I pluck and groom them myself!))

As yall can see, left one is how my brows were before I knew about the korean eyebrows trend! Right one is how my brows are now! :D

Another one for yall

Man the difference between the photos is about 3 to 4 years!! Wah, I changed so much leh. Okay lah, maybe a little only LOL.

Anyway, now plucking my brows are a painless thing to me heh. I know some girls would find them super duper pain in the beginning, but trust me, once you keep on doing it, it gets less pain subsequently.

At 11 years old was when I discovered beauty gurus on YouTube. That's when I watched Michelle Phan's videos for the first time! Ever since then, I got hooked and that's where I learned a lot of makeup tips from her videos.

Also, I had the blessing of getting my first pair of contact lenses! As you know, wearing makeup with glasses is a little... weird. To me at least. So my mom kinda tell me whether I wanna try to wear contact lenses, so I was like "alrighty!" Plus I wouldn't look so nerdy anymore.

I discovered BB creams at that age as well. It was because I was hooked on kpop and k dramas. That year was the year when KPOP was starting to become a global phenomenon. Boys Over Flowers was my first ever korean drama and I was so crazy over it. While watching it, I sort of studied the makeup and was so freaking fascinated by how korean people's skin was so pretty!

pic not mine

That's where I learned that they used "BB Creams." My first BB cream was from Za! Not a korean brand yeah, but still it was a BB cream so I was excited!

pic not mine. credit to official website of Za

My first compact powder was also from Za!

Soon as I watch more beauty tutorials on YouTube from various makeup gurus, my obsession for makeup grew! Some of my favourite makeup gurus would be ((the QUEEN)) Michelle Phan, Promise Tamang Phan, Angel from BeautifyMeeh, Judy from itsJudytime, and Bethany Mota!! There's so much more, but these are personally my favourites!

Before I was into korean makeup styles, I was into black eyeshadows, thick eyeliners and thin brows! I am sure every girl would have her "goth look" in the beginning of discovering makeup.

I don't know if you could see my eye makeup, but could you see how black it is? LOL. This was taken in 2011 I think! When Belle ((little cousin)) was about 3! ((She's 7 now btw))

Soon korean makeup became a trend! It was all about super nice and white skin with straight thick brows. Winged eyeliner and minimal eyeshadows, hardly any blush on the cheeks followed by gradient lips.

DAMN NICE RIGHT. I love love love how korean makeup focus so much on making the skin so dewy and pretty!!

Korean women ((and men)) super duper take damn good care of their skin one! They love love having that dewy effect on their skin cause it's like their skin is "glowing" But here in Singapore, it's impossible with the heat ugh. Plus, dewy dewy skin effect would make you look like you have super oily skin LOL. Cause it will make your face shine mah. It's only possible in cold countries I guess.

No use having dewy dewy skin here in Singapore

So now whenever I watch k dramas, I always pay attention to the females's makeup!! Get to learn a tip or two! Heh.

Come to think of it, boy am I glad I discovered korean makeup trends. Cause I think it sort of suits me better and I love it very very much!!

I think different women suits different makeup style. If you are new to makeup, don't be afraid to try on different styles! Be it smokey or natural eyeshadows, red or pink lips, american or korean makeup styles, don't be afraid to experiment with it!

In my free time, I'll just whip out my eyeshadow palette and start applying different eyeshadow colors onto my eyes. This is to see which colors suits me best and whether I will like it or not!

It's kinda fun ya know, to play around with makeup. Do different types of eyeliner wings, different lip colors and so much more!! Hehe!

For those makeup beginners, look up tutorials on YouTube. They are sooooooo useful trust me!!

I know makeup isn't cheap nowadays, but you can try those makeup at Watson or Guardian! They are so much cheaper than those at Sephora!! You might have discount somemore!!

If not, buy online. I usually buy online heh.

Have fun and don't be afraid to explore! Fighting!!

God Bless <3
