An online safe haven.

So a few months ago, my skin started breaking out for no apparent reason. Instead of "period pimples" which you get every month but those disappear within like a few days, I had acne instead. Like, really really bad acne.

Acne started popping out on my forehead, cheeks and chin. So basically, my entire face. It was red. Sorry no pics cause who wanted to take pictures of their bad acne as a memory lol.

Because normally my skin is healthy and clear, I was freaking out when it started breaking out. Like why?! I headed to the National Skin Centre to get a check up done and to get some medicine for the acne. In my case it's considered mild acne lah, but if you were in my shoes you'd understand. For someone who has clear skin all her life, all of a sudden acne started arriving?!

The dermatologist said it could be due to hormones- other words, puberty.

Wow, a bit too late for acne puberty leh. So yeah, apparently, acne puberty decided to hit me when I'm a little older. Sigh.

Anyway, because of my sensitive and acne skin, I made huge changes to my makeup routine.

I stopped using foundation/bb creams.

Foundation image source

Before my acne skin, I had a complete makeup routine - which means, foundation/bb creams or cushion, brows, liner, blush, contour, highlight etc. But after the redness and acne started appearing, I stopped using my bb creams/cushions.

Because the doctor told me that it is better to let my skin breathe, she told me to try not to pile on a lot of makeup. So, I stopped.

I know, what a waste right. All my bb creams/cushions are left in my drawer, untouched for like a few months liao. But I've never felt better!

After I stopped piling makeup on my face, I feel like my skin could breathe better now. Especially out in the hot weather, I don't have to worry about my sweat mixing with my base makeup already (ew).

I now use only concealer for my under eye dark circles. Thankfully my concealer shade is the same as my skin tone, so it is able to blend in very nicely so it wont look so obvious that I have only under eye concealer on heh.

Actually, I got the idea of going foundation free from Michelle Phan as well. I remembered she said something when she finally came back, was how her skin has never felt healthy ever since she stopped using foundation. If I'm not wrong, she has been going foundation free for two years now and her skin really looked amazing. No kidding.

If can, try to go foundation free once in a while. It is actually beneficial to your skin especially skin like mine which are sensitive and acne prone. Plus, you get to save money heh.

I stopped using blushes.

Blush image source

At the time when my acne was really bad, my cheeks were already red enough. So obviously I can't use anymore blush right? Later I look like a baboon. Lol.

Plus, just the thought of piling on powders onto my acne skin makes me feel yucky. Ugh. So now, I haven't been using blush for months.

Even now when my skin is clearing up (hallelujah thank you Lord), and there's not much redness anymore, I still don't use any blush already.

I started making use of color correcting concealers recently when I started breaking out. Yes, I said I don't wanna pile on makeup on my acne right, but there are times where I have events to go to where I need to to look nice right, so that's where color correcting comes in.

I am currently using this color correcting palette by NYX and it is so good.

I use the green shade to neutralise the redness on my skin and it does work wonders.

Also, I had cut down on my skincare routine.

Okay this may seem like a shocker cause you may be like "huh, but isn't cutting down on your skincare routine bad for your skin?" Well.. in my case, not really. My doctor told me that since my skin is a bit more sensitive and tend to be red easily, it would be better to stay away from makeup brand skincare.

I took the liberty of asking her specifically about Korean brand skincare since they are known for skincare right, so she told me that it's better to stay away from them if your skin tend to be more sensitive than others.

She also told me that all I need for skincare is just sun protection and moisturiser.

Wow, if only I knew that earlier I wouldn't spend so much money on skincare lor.

She recommended a skincare line that it suitable for people with sensitive skin like me, that is more medicinal in this case.

So now, instead of having five products on my face, I have only two! Some of you may have a different opinion than me, but I feel like it's better this way. Like the phrase "less is more" right? Hehe.

It has been a few months since these changes were made and I'm glad to say that my skin is clearing up day by day. THANK YOU JESUS.

There are like pimples popping here and there but those are the kinds that disappears after a week. So yes, my acne is starting to clear up and there is still slight redness here and there but it's all good!

Nevertheless, I intend to stay on this makeup routine still. Probably cause I am used to it already I guess. Sorry once again, I have no before and after pictures. Cause really, the last thing I wanna do is to take a pic of my extreme red face when I'm breaking out lol.

To all those out there who are having acne too, don't fret too much! Just know that it is a phase in life and that your skin will be clear and beautiful again! It just takes time, in my case, more than half a year. Just be patient and diligently apply your prescribed medicine. You'll definitely see changes soon enough.

Back with another beauty review! So excited for this one because it is a product which I have always wanted and I finally got it at Watsons since there was a promotion going on!

As you can see from the title, it is Silkygirl's Matte Lip Cream. Matte lip creams and liquid lipsticks are trending nowadays, many popular brands such as Colorpop, ABH, Kylie Cosmetics etc all have liquid lipsticks products!

Since I'm asian, so I support asian brand lmao. JK don't get so sensitive people.

Anyway, I got 2 shades of Silkygirl's matte lip creams from Watsons. One was "Vixen" which is a red color and since I do not have any red lip color in my makeup collection, I was like okay I have to get one!!! (One makeup tip that I learned: ALWAYS have a red lip color cause red is always trendy)

The picture ruined it omg, okay it looks not too red here but wait till you see the swatch, the picture above doesn't do the color justice sigh.

The other color I got was "Glamour" which was a pinkish, peachy color. I had doubts about the color when I bought it at first cause I thought I wouldn't like it, but I was wrong, I LOVE IT LIKE IT'S SO PRETTY and it's not too nude and not too pinkish. It's like in between so I really really like it alot,

This is what it looks like before drying:

Please excuse my arm hairs. As you can see, "Vixen" is a bright red color which I absolutely love!

This is how it looks like when it's completely dry.

I love how this lip cream doesn't make my lips dry at all. I was expecting my lips to be peeling and feeling dry but no, I feel very comfortable wearing it.

Star factor: Able to last the entire day, I only need to re apply once (after I eat but not that it comes off when you eat, I just prefer to re apply so that the color would be vibrant again).

Oh but if your lips tend to crack and is always dry, I recommend prepping your lips before applying any matte products. What I do is scrub my lips and then apply lip balm before applying the matte lip creams.

It doesn't have any fragrance (to my dismay cause ya know I love nice smelling makeup products) but oh well, at least it does it's job.

When I wear "Vixen" I always use a lipliner first. When wearing a red lip color, it is better to always line your lips first so that it would look nicer. But when it comes to "Glamour" I just apply it without lining cause I don't have a suitable lip liner for this shade. Hope I would be able to find a similar shade to it!

I took a snapchat photo of me wearing Vixen..

I lined my lips and applied the lip cream when I was in the car which is why I didn't really do a good job applying the product which made my lips so small omg.

Here's another better picture, I wore this shade during Chinese New Year when I went visiting! Such a suitable shade for the festive isn't it?

gah all my pimples sigh

And here's me wearing Glamour..

PS: I really really love Snapchat cam which is why I used it only for selfies! Plus the filters are cute.
I REALLY REALLY LOVE THIS COLOR SO MUCH OMGGGGGGGGGG

Most of my lip colors consist of different shades of pinks, which is why I'm loving this cause it's not my usual pinkish lip color. I think I'm going to be wearing this more often from now on.. hehe.

I might buy more shades in future but for now I'm satisfied with these two!

Okay that's the end of my review, I'll be back with more! See ya'll soon~

((gifs not mine))

I can finally sit down and properly blog right now. It has been such a hectic few months and I finally have the time!

So, I've just finished posting my Bangkok/Pattaya series and if you have not read them, go back to the main page and you'll find the posts all there (I'm so lazy to link lmao). Anyway, my three-part post on BKK/PTT is all up and seeing what I wrote makes me wanna go back there again mainly because of the food and massage!! YASSSS.

But! Sadly, I can't go for any holiday until August! Why? Cause I've officially started internship!!

Which to me is like "omgggg, i've started internship already..??"

Because this means that i'm in my third year of poly this year and after internship it'd be my final semester before graduation, and then after grad it's the time to make big life decisions idk omg.

Anyway, yup, i've started internship! idk whether should I be excited or crying lmao. Ok, just kidding, to be honest.. I'm half nervous and half excited. Even though it's been a few weeks since I started internship but I'm still nervous idk why. But so far, internship has been quite eye opening for me and I'm learning little things bit by bit.

Okay, I can't say much about my internship (cause most info suppose to confidential I think) but all I can say is that because my internship company is an event company so we organise events right and I spend my first week of internship onsite straight away since my team had a event for three days before I headed to the office and started office work when the event was over!

Also, I get to see other TP people at the office as well which makes it so much better because seeing familiar faces around an environment you've never been to makes it so much better really.

I don't know if interning for five months will make me miss the school environment or not (most people will say no lmao) but I'm a little excited to see where this five months of intern brings me and it's kinda cool to see what you've learned in school coming to life especially in the MICE industry.

OH AND SPEAKING OF MICE, results for this sem came out and sigh pie, MICE MADE MY GPA DROP BY 0.1 SIGH. Which I kinda expected it cause during the sem, mice was the only mod that I didn't really like and so well, guess I kinda not do well for it.. oops..

Told my mom my results and got blasted sigh pie, she blamed it on the k dramas that I've been watching.. (well.. technically she's not that wrong..) maybe I've been watching too many dramas last sem already lmao.

Speaking of k dramas, have 'yall been watching the latest drama STRONG WOMAN DO BONG SOON? If you have not, what are you doing?! Starring Park Bo Young and Park Hyung Shik, it's about a cute little woman called Bong Soon who has like a hulk strength lmao. It has quite a high ratings so far and its super cute!! Yall should go watch it!!

I find myself getting adjusted slowly with working life day by day and I'm always always looking forward for Fridays because TGIF lmao. I mean when you start working, you'll gradually look forward to the weekend!

I've also started dayre-ing again but it's only about my internship adventure so ya'll can check it out if you want! dayre.me/lebritneeeey

Okay, I'll update until here. Good friday was yesterday so we got a long weekend this week hehe. Had a great service at church and it truely reminds us about God's love for us when he sent his son down to die for our sins. <3

If you have not read part 1 or 2, click here and here respectively!

So let's move on to..

DAY 5 . . .

So we started our second day in Pattaya feeling fresh and ready to explore! Well, first off, breakfast first right. We did buy breakfast for the first day at the resort hotel so all of us decided to go to Central and find food.

To get there, we had to ride the taxi.. and no, not the normal taxi, it's the tuk tuk taxi, much cheaper and fun since it's like open space (?)..

wonder what my dad is laughing at.. and my cousin certainly do not look too impress lmao

a selfie for instagram!

Along the way we passed by the beach, superb scenery!

Okay lah, I know it's nothing impressive but still heh.

Here's Central mall! Whenever we come to Pattaya, we will always go to Central mall to find food and buy stuff like groceries lmao.

I love how blue the sky is, so beautiful!
Because we were so hungry and the mall wasn't open when we got there, so we ate a little Mac Breakfast cause we can't tahan lol.

Once the mall opened, we went to the food court and find food! I tried their wanton mee since I was craving for it, no pics cause I devoured the food fast hehe.

There's only this much you could do at Central, shopping or eat that's all tbh.

The guys decided to get a facial there lmao since it was cheap
My bro and my cousin getting started HAHAH

After shopping for a little while, we all went up to Hilton Hotel to relax and drank some cocktails

View from Hilton Hotel
A lot of people were taking OOTD or Instagram worthy pictures I kid ya not, girls with high heels were treating the place like some modelling studio LMAO. Poor boyfriends had to take pictures for their girlfriends again and again AHAHAH

We head back to the hotel to put our barang barang back before heading out to MASSAGE!!!! OMG. Super excited cause my purpose for Pattaya was the MASSAGE!!!!

No pictures cause it's a little weird to be taking pics when your having a massage lmao. But we cousins did the feet+back+shoulder+head package. Massage was shiok as always and it isn't the first time that I experience the authentic thai massage here but it was still a little new to me since it was my first time trying out this package.

Nevertheless, super shiok and darn, one day of massage isn't enough man sigh. Anyway, after massage, we head back to Central for food again!!

Central at night

By evening, the outside of Central becomes a mini night market, selling clothes, shoes and other cute and unique stuff all for cheap cheap price!!

As we were walking back, we spotted this shop selling soap bars in all kinds of shapes and sizes. But they smell damn nice! Like if it's in a shape of a corn, it smells like corn! There were watermelon, pineapple and other different fruits! So cool!!

Here are the snaps from day 5!

We then headed back to the hotel for an early rest since the fun begins the next day..!

DAY 6 . . .

RISE AND SHINE, IT'S BOATING TIME!

Ohhh yes, you heard me right, BOATING! We woke up super early, around 7AM plus to head down for breakfast (in the end we bought breakfast lol) and then get ready to head out to the sea!

finding our boat

So we rented a boat for the entire morning till afternoon to head out into the sea,

my mom with her big umbrella, oh gosh =.=

There were two decks on the boat, I stayed on the upper deck most of the time to lepak and take pictures heh. And um, if you thought that our boat is like those super classy yacht, then you're wrong.

I forgot to take pictures of the boat but er, it's quite a big and old boat so nothing fancy.

me when we headed out to the sea!
As you can tell from the pic, it was super windy. LIKE NO JOKE, SUPER WINDY AND COLD!!

I mean, can you believe it, COLD?! Like legit though, it was freezing cold plus the wind makes it even worst.

here's my bro looking grumpy as always lmao

But the view from amazing. Perfect scenery for instagram worthy pictures heh.

We stayed at a spot so that we could fish. Well, not me lah, since I don't but like my uncles and my cousins fished. They caught a few small fishes which was given to this auntie on board to cook meals for us.

Then the boat moved to another area where my cousins went swimming! Not me again, lmao cause I don't swim.

It was great experience since the weather was really perfect, quite chilly but not hot at all! One bad thing is that there were a lot of high tides and waves which made the boat very rocky and scary. Gosh, makes me feel like I was in titanic LMAO except a smaller version lol.

Oh and there's still connection to the digital world even when we were out at sea so I managed to post and snapchat a little! But I spend most of the time taking pics of the scenery and just lazying around enjoying the seabreeze.

By the time we head back to the hotel to freshen up it was already in the late afternoon. I stayed in the room to rest and watch tv while my parents head out to get stuff. I took a short nap and by the time I woke up, I was already hungryzz.

We head out for dinner with my dad's thai friend/working friend and she introduced us to this place for another round of authentic thai food! Yum yums! Not too far from where we stayed, it was like a 20 minute drive.

No pictures again so sorry cause I always devour the food first before thinking of taking a picture lmao.

It was our last night in Pattaya/Thailand, so I didn't want to concentrate on taking pictures, I just wanted to walk around without having to hold the phone for once heh.

SNAPS FROM DAY 6..

After dinner, we decided to walk back to the hotel. It was a fairly long walk but since we were so full from food, it was a nice exercise heh. Went back to the hotel, pack and then sleep cause..

this brings us to our final day of this trip.. GOING HOME!

credits to my bro's iPhone 7 Plus

I was feeling sad cause it was back to reality sigh.. Here's me waiting for our van to the airport.. And yep, there were 2 vans and the second one was an hour late again sigh. But nevertheless, we manage to make it in time thank God.

one last selfie before saying goodbye

Bye bye Thailand! It was a very nice and relaxing trip but I guess it's time to head home and back to reality..

We landed in SG around 8 to 9PM, even though it was a 2 hr flight, it was tiring for me thought idk why. I use to love taking airplanes and travelling, I still do, but taking airplanes feel really tiring nowadays sigh. I don't know how these globetrotter does it man.

Anyway.. thank you for reading my #britsayssawadee series and I highly do recommend a trip to Thailand if you have never been there before!

See yall in my next post.. which would prolly be a makeup review soon! Hehe~

If you have not read PART 1, click here!!

Let's continue shall we? Hehe.

DAY 3 . . .

The third day was full of shopping thats all. Nothing much really. Now, when you hear the words "shopping", "fashion" and "Bangkok", what comes into your mind?

For most people, especially girls, the name "PLATINUM FASHION MALL" will come to their mind!

I would say that Platinum is the ultimate shopping heaven for people who need new clothes. Located in the streets of Pratunam, Platinum was just about 10 mins away from Pathumwan if no traffic.

another mini pasar malam outside the mall
I didn't take pictures when I was inside cause I was busy shopping lol. It has about 6 floors if I am not wrong.. The first few floors are filled with women's clothings. Only 1 floor was given to men's HAHAHA. I mean that is probably why majority of the people who goes to Platinum are ladies.

I managed to find a few pieces of clothing for Chinese New Year and school! Got several cute souvenirs for people as well.

day 3 dinner

After intense shopping at Platinum, we headed back to the hotel and relaxed at tghe VIP lounge for a little while before heading to MBK for dinner!

Went to Mt. Fuji (restaurant duh) for japanese food since jap food in SG is like so ex. I had the set meal alongside other dishes. I didn't had the chance to have lunch at Platinum because all we wanted was to hurry up and buy what we needed to buy so gotta admit, a little while I was feeling a bit moody cause I was hangry. LMAO.

I mean if you were shopping the entire day and feeling tired and hungry, you'll naturally feel hangry right??

After dinner, me and my cousins went to the arcade at the top level of MBK and played a few games for a while lol while the adults went to do their own stuff. We played several arcade games that I had never played before (cause arcades in SG are not that cheap ya know)

So after that we went to get Starbucks (I got green tea latte!!) before heading back up to the room cause we were leaving for Pattaya the next day, so must get an early rest!!

DAY 4 . . .

RISE AND SHINE GUYS! HEHE. Fourth day of Thailand trip is where we will be heading to Pattaya! YAY!

Okay, remember when I said in part 1 that it is a bad idea to go to BKK first and then to Pattaya?

Well, it's because.. THERE IS JUST SO MANY THINGS TO PACK OMG.

So let me tell ya how the morning of day 4 went..

After having breakfast, me, my mom, my aunt and cousin decide to go back to Platinum again for a quick shop because my cousin fell sick the day before. He had vomited and was really sick (we had to ask the hotel to call a doctor for him who then gave him a jab so he rested during the third day).

By the next day, he was feeling much better so we brought him to Platinum since he wanted to buy some clothes as well. So while shopping for about 2 hours, we had to quickly rush back because we needed to clear and pack our stuff as our room is suppose to be cleared by 12 noon as there is another guest coming.

The thing is, we forgot to inform the front desk the night before that we would like to extend our check out timing, so as a result, the front desk assumed that we are all checking out at 12 noon. (Our ride to Pattaya will only arrive at 3pm)

So after a whole lot of discussion and what not, we decided to shift every of our stuff to one room only. (Since there's three families, so there's three rooms)

It was very rush for us since we have not pack everything finish, so when we got back to the hotel, there was just a lot of stuff to be packed. And ya know, since all we can do in BKK is to buy stuff, there is just A LOT OF STUFF that we need to pack and bring WITH US to Pattaya!

Therefore, just a tip, always leave BKK the last place for your holiday, so if you want to travel to Pattaya or Phuket and BKK, travel to BKK last.

Anyway, end of story, let's continue shall we?

Our ride came at 3PM, since we have three families, there were 2 rides (mini vans).

My apologies for the bad quality pics, I don't know what happened lol.

The van is quite spacious, me and my bro sat behind. Ya know those van that celebrities use to travel? Yeah, something similar except there isn't any tinted windows..

The view on the way to Pattaya

So the second van (that I took) came like an hour late sigh, so we actually started travelling around 4 to 4:30PM.

It takes about 2 hours or less if possible, to get to Pattaya from Bangkok. Well, I'm assuming it must be about 2 hours since when we left it was still sunny, but when we reached Pattaya, it was already dark.

We reached the hotel/resort at about 7PM!

It was our first time staying at this hotel.. Mercure Pattaya Ocean Resort.

We decided to try out this hotel cause apparently it was cheap, much cheaper than the hotels we stayed before..

the lobby

children pool area

Isn't too bad huh? Yeah it wasn't that bad.. until we went up to the room.

Okay, so I have no pictures of the room because to be honest, it was kinda what I expected ya know. Cause I mean for a cheap price, getting a room like this is expected.

So.. rmb how awesome and spacious the room was in Bangkok? Super huge and nice? Well.. the room here is the opposite.

Super small and tiny.. Yes, cozy but.. still there are better hotels in my opinion. But what can I expect for a cheaper price? Can't complain much.

This hotel is good for families with children since there are a lot of kid friendly facilities.. But erm, we are not kids, so this hotel doesn't really impress us.

However, one thing good about this hotel is that the service staff are really nice. They remember you very well and would be glad to take care of you during your stay.

So I guess that's one thing good about this hotel. I just didn't really like how small the room was that's all. (I mean, my family are all big size people, it can get really uncomfortable sometimes ya know)

Anyway, after dumping our stuff in our room, we headed out to find food and eat.

fake chinatown..???
We find a "fake chinatown" just a few walks from the hotel. It was like a tze char place., and filled with lots of chinese people. But we didn't eat there though.. cause the stall owners were smart lol, they didn't bother putting prices on their stall signs, just pictures of the food itself.. lmao.

We headed to the opposite and found better stalls to eat from! Another round of authentic thai food!!

There were not much people so we were able to get a seat. I had Pad Thai again! No pictures cause I was so hungry that I forgot to take hehe.

I know some people don't really like to eat from street stalls like this cause of hygiene reasons, I was once like that too since I have a weak tummy. But heck, I mean, coming to Thailand expected one right, that street stalls are a lot common around then shopping centres food.

So I just properly say grace and then eat. I mean at least there's food to satisfy my hunger ya know.

After eating, we decided to walk further down the street and came across this mall.

Central Marina
It was a mall that we didn't knew existed lol cause we were always walking towards the other side of Pattaya.

Since it was the festive season, there were lots of decorations around! The theme of this mall is marine-ish (is it cause the mall is called central marina..??? lol).

It was quite late already so most of the stalls were closed.

Pasar malam!!
That concludes our fourth day in Thailand and first day in Pattaya!

I shall see ya in my next post and the last post of #britsayssawadee!

God Bless! <3
